Church Regulations Regarding Abstinence & Fasting During Lent - Abstinence is a penitential practice consisting of refraining from the consumption of meat and is to be observed by all Catholics who are 14 years of age and older. Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and the Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence.
- Fasting is to be observed by all Catholics between the ages of 18-59 years (inclusive). Days of fasting are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On days of fasting, one full meal is allowed. Two smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids are allowed.

During the final weeks of winter into spring, we have two opportunities for you to sing with the parish choir: If you want to sing for one or more of these special events call Bob Grant! We have immediate openings for volunteer musicians to support the 50th Anniversary Mass Orchestra & Combined Choir. All voices and instruments are welcome, and we are in particular need of C Trumpets, tympani, and handbell ringers. We will be performing our commissioned anthem by noted composer Stephen Grimm, Hymn to St. John the Baptist. Please give serious consideration to supporting this event with your musical talent. -
